Tasks: MDS was tasked to investigate and understand the range of challenges faced by in and out of school girls during menstruation as well as the determinants of those challenges across a range of settings and cultural contexts in rural and urban Zimbabwe.
MDS was also required to compare the varied challenges and determinants across cultural contexts to identify points of intervention that may ameliorate the challenges of menstruation for girls with a focus on girls in schools but also those not in school, MDS was also asked to provide strategic qualitative information and quantitative data for the development of a Menstrual Health Management communication for development and public information strategy to support the adoption of requisite social and behavioural practices as well as influencing the shifting gender and social norms at individual, family, community and societal level. Lastly, MDS was required to provide key recommendations to ultimately inform planning and appropriately target proposed programs
