Capacity Assessment of Informal Economy Association on HIV/AIDS Program Delivery

Description of Project

The overall objective of the consultancy was to conduct a Capacity Assessment of Informal Economy Associations (IEA) to identify areas for organizational improvement to strengthen the IEA's capacity to facilitate access to comprehensive knowledge on HIV/AIDS, intergrated HIV services, and commodities to informal economy workers. Based on the Capacity Assessment findings and recommendations, identify and propose realistic, feasible and time-bound Capacity Development strategies and develop a Capacity Buiding Plan that can be implemented by the respective Associations. MDS a) conducted a gap analysis on the Informal Economy Associaton's mandate, personnel, funding, relevant to the effective implementation of HIV/AIDS programmes; b) Assessed each IEA structure geographic coverage, and membership distribution, in relation to effective cascading of HIV/AIDS programmes; c) Determined specific training needs and requirements of the respective EIA and identified innovative means of conducting the trainings with minimum disruption, in relation to IE workers; d) Carried out an analysis on the capacity of the IEA to mainstream gender equality and human rights in their programmes. e) Used the information gathered from the assessments and analysis and proposed capacity development strategy and plan
