Development of the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Advocacy and Communication Strategy 2018 – 2020
Duration: March – June 2018
Description of Project
The existing National Family Planning Advocacy and Communication Strategy (2012-2015) expired, hence generated need for the review and development of a new advocacy strategy. In addition, the development of the ZNFP Strategy, Cost Implementation Plan and ASRH Strategy (2016 – 2020) necessitated the need for synchronization of the Advocacy and Communication Strategy to align with related national policy documents such as the ASRH Strategy, the National Strategic Plan for the Elimination of New HIV Infections in Children and Keeping Their Mothers Alive (EMTCT) Strategy, National Service Guidelines on Integrating SRH and HIV and programmes and services.
The work included undertaking a comprehensive situational analysis of family planning and the state of advocacy and communication on key objectives of the Family Planning Strategy. Other responsibilities included design of the process, drafting of the strategy, facilitating validation workshop and finalization of the strategy.
