Light diagnosis on informality for persons with disabilities in four African countries

The main objectives of ILO’s Diagnosis of Informality are to gain a better understanding of the informal economy (extent, diversity, causes, and consequences) and the context; to build a wide domestic consensus about the situation through a transparent and participative process to be in the best possible position to discuss and agree on priorities and responsibilities and define an action plan and a road map. The diagnosis also sets the baseline for the monitoring of the gradual process of formalisation and the improvement of working conditions as a result of formalisation or in the informal economy, including for the monitoring and evaluation of policy measures.
