Description of the Project

MDS conducted an evaluation of the Integrated Food Nutrition and Income Security (FNI) programme implemented by a consortium comprising SNV, CAFOD and Environment Africa the EUR4million programme was funded by the EU and supported integrated interventions to achieve food, income and nutrition security for 17,000 smallholder farmer households for four years in Hwange and Binga districts. The project supported value chain development (livestock and vegetables), nutrition support through community based nutrition education and awareness and support for achievement of food security.

Tasks

Household data analysis to determine impact of the programme on food nutrition and income security, used a theory based evaluation approach in designing the evaluation methodology which included reconstructing Theory of Change, and provision of recommendations for strengthening similar approaches in future.
